allison gaddis from live, laugh, love, weddings planned the entire event. i loved the fun color scheme that just screamed allison and john's personality!

as most of you know, normally my sister is my second shooter, but i had the privilege of having that awesome hannah wilhoit come along with me for this wedding and she did a fabulous job! i loved these next two detail shots she got of the different napkins that allison had for the tables.

i loved how allison used banquet tables! Here in the south, most receptions are buffet style and then seated in round tables, but i thought that the banquet tables were a nice touch. they still had a buffet, so brides, don't be afraid to mix up and break the rules a little bit!

Ashley, WE LOVE THESE! These are SOOO GREAT! We can't wait to see more! I love how you showed so many great details that made their wedding unique! You perfectly captured their personalities and their love! Thanks so much for this sneak peak!

(08.18.10 @ 04:33 AM)If you are thinking about making a trip to Alaska, I would strongly recommend it. I would also suggest going on a cruise, like we did. Getting to port in several different cities and towns was a great way to see this state.
A few highlights:
1) Going whale watching in Juneau. It was completely surreal to see these giant creatures jumping out of the water right beside our boat.
2) Taking a helicopter ride to a glacier. Justin convinced me that this was a good idea, and he ended up being right. I thought I would be scared of the helicopter trip, but I ended up loving it! This was an incredible way to see Alaska: snow capped mountains, rivers, waterfalls, everything you can think of. To top it off, we landed on top of a glacier and got to walk around and explore.
3) Taking a floatplane ride. Justin again convinced me that this would be fun. We took a catamaran deep into the Alaskan wilderness and saw some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet. After a couple of hours we boarded a floatplane and it took us back. It's a pretty weird feeling being in a plane that takes off from the water like that, but it was a fun experience. I think I prefer the helicopter though.
4) Victoria, British Columbia. On the way back, we ported in Victoria for an evening. Wow! This city is very beautiful and I wish we would have had more time there. We traveled to the Butchart Gardens while we were there and I was blown away by its beauty. If can't wait to go back to British Columbia at some point.
Here are a few pictures from the trip, hope you enjoy!
