i am so excited about 2011 and was thrilled that my first wedding of the year was jay and rebecca's. jay and i went to college together, my husband lived with him for 3 years, and jay and i were on the same young life team for a couple of years as well. needless to say, we have spent tons of time together hanging out on back porches, going to young life camps and even bonnaroo. when jay started dating rebecca, we knew he had found someone really special. she is one of the kindest, sweetest people i have ever met. jay really found himself a great catch. i really can't say enough great things about this couple, so it was only fitting that they had a wedding on the warmest day in january. it was perfect and beautiful.

rebecca was just stunning. a really really beautiful bride.

the flowers were done by allie king of sassafras flowers. she does an incredible job!

rebecca's bridesmaids were so cute and accessorized sooo well.

i mean how cute are their shoes!!!

rebecca is the youngest of 4. she has three older sisters and it was so sweet to watch them together.

the guys looked pretty sharp too.

i love a groom's face as he sees his bride walk down the aisle. especially if it's a friend of mine. so sweet.

i mean seriously, does it get much cuter?

jay and rebecca both did the fellows program in knoxville and the fellows live and meet at four market square in downtown knoxville, so they wanted to stop and take communion there on the way to the reception. it was a really sweet time.

ok, so my husband is probably going to kill me, but i just couldn't resist myself. he really does know how to be the life of the party :)

jay and rebecca were just getting ready to leave when this happened....i think jay enjoyed it a little more than rebecca did!

congrats jay and rebecca! we love you guys!!

last weekend, jay and rebecca got married. it was the last weekend in january and it was just beautiful. after the winter that we have had, i was ready for anything, but would never have dreamed of weather this fantastic. it was near 60 degrees and sunny. it just looked like a happy day outside, and it really was. it was a really happy day. on this chilly february monday, i thought i would share with you an image or two to cheer you up and know that surely spring is around the corner!

jenny and matt. knoxville wedding.

so, as you can probably tell, i am like way behind on blogging. i took a little hiatus over the holidays. really feeling that i needed a little break from the online world in order to spend more time with friends and family as well as get some much needed things done around the house that seem to get neglected throughout the year with our busy lives. it has been nice to be able to take a step back, but with january over, and spring (hopefully) around the corner, wedding season is upon us! as much as i have enjoyed a little time off, i must say that i am quite excited about this year ahead! my clients this year are flat out phenomenal and i am so excited about photographing every single one of their weddings!!

before my break from blogging, i ended the year with matt and jenny's wedding. it was such a great way to close out the year. jenny's sister, emery, is one of my fellow "band wives". someone i am so thankful for! i absolutely could not ask for better girls to walk through this journey with. i was so excited when emery mentioned that her sister was engaged! i had met jenny a couple of times and was thrilled when her and matt asked me to photograph their wedding. they are such a sweet and fun couple that are totally meant to be together. i can't tell you how many times throughout the weekend i heard the phrase, "matt is just like jenny except he's a boy" or vise versa. they really are two peas in a pod.

there are a lot of things that i love about this job, but i would have to say that engagement sessions are definitely one of my favorites. i love getting to know a couple before their wedding! i had such a great time hanging out with kellye and bram at the amazing blackberry farm. the weather was just perfect and the sunlight was to die for. i cannot wait for their wedding in another one of my favotire places, savannah, ga!

this fall has been full of fun sessions taking advantage of the gorgeous colors! one of my favorite things about engagement sessions, is getting to know the couple before the wedding. i had such a great time hanging out with hadley and hollis. they are such a SWEET couple. i am soooo excited about their wedding in may.

hadley told me that her dad had an old convertable that she would be interested in using in photos. i said yes please!!!!

i loved hanging out with you guys! can't wait til your wedding!!
