last weekend 2 of my favorite people got married!! elizabeth yancey and chris doody tied the knot and i could not be more excited about it!! but before all the wedding festivities took place, i got to hang out with elizabeth and her sweet mother for a little bridal portrait session. let me just say this. elizabeth is GORGEOUS. she is gorgeous everyday. all the time. but when she put on that wedding dress, oh my. i have never seen her look more beautiful.

the martha washington is a beautiful place, but the lighting outside was so amazing, those photos were of course my personal favorites.

i absolutely loved elizabeth's dress. i mean LOVED. one of the best parts of her dress was this amazing sash that came with it! elizabeth wore it only to the reception and i thought it was the perfect party accessory!!

when i grow up, i want to look like elizabeth.

colby and christen's big fat greek wedding

to me, there are so many different things that can make up a great wedding. but there is only one thing that can make for the best wedding. two people who are crazy about each other. and this next wedding has just that. colby and christen's wedding is one that i have been looking forward to for a while. besides the fact that christen is stunningly gorgeous, she also just so happens to be greek! somehow, i have gone all these years never having seen "my big fat greek wedding" which christen and her family said was an absolute must see before the wedding. so, on the friday night before her wedding, i had some girl friends over and we snuggled up on the couch to watch the movie. after seeing it, i was even more excited for saturday! and of course, their wedding did not disappoint!!! the wedding ceremony was so sweet, the reception was definitely a party, throw a fabulous couple in there, and you have wedding photography heaven!!!!

christen absolutely loved her shoes. and i have to say, so did i!

this was one of the sweetest moments of the day. colby's mom was putting a necklace on christen and expressing how happy she was that her son was marrying her. it definitely had whitney and i both in tears. made me feel so lucky to be a part of such a sweet wedding.

the color combo was so fun!

i normally don't post this many photos from the ceremony, but the were so many sweet and interesting moments, i couldn't resist.

people always ask me what my favorite part of a wedding day is and i'm pretty sure that it is that first moment right after the bride and groom have walked down the aisle and are together as husband and wife. they are always so happy! this photo is from that moment.

i LOVED this! after the ceremony, colby gave all of his groomsmen UT ties to wear at the reception.

and again, ending on a couple of my favorites from the whole day!

congrats to you both!!!!!! you guys are the best!!!!!

happy friday friends!! august has been full of fabulous, fun, weddings! and this one was no different! whitney and i had such a great time shooting meg and aaron's wedding. it was an absolutely beautiful wedding at second presbytirian church and then an amazing reception at the knoxville museum of art. the whole affair was planned by the highly talented and also a dear friend of mine, allison sprouse of the modern hostess. (she also just so happens to own an amazing store downtown called abode. if you haven't ever been there, you are missing out!! go now!) anyway, on to the fun stuff!! the wedding!!

i absolutely LOVED meg's dress. one of my favorites from the year :)

you might not be able to tell here, but a storm was a brewin'!! we just had to take advantage of some beautiful soft light from the rain though. i really liked how these turned out.

aaron wasn't looking too shabby either! oh, and i just loved meg's color combo! yellow and grey....yummy!!

i just always love how well whitney catches such sweet moments right before the ceremony.

now on to what is always my favorite part.....photos of the sweet bride and groom!

these are about to come in REAL handy!

i love some groomsmen who aren't camera shy! :)

but what i love even more is a bride and groom who aren't afraid to dance!!

ok, 2 blogs, one day. i normally try and space my blogs out a little better, but i just decided that i wanted to go ahead and give you all a little sneak peak at the beautiful meg grunke. we just shot her wedding last weekend and it was soooo much fun! a couple weeks ago we got together to shoot some bridal portraits of meg and she was just a natural in front of the camera. i loved her dress, her veil, just everything about it. can't wait to share her wedding photos with you!!

yea, she pretty much rocked it. :)

vita and ben. tennessee theater wedding.

happy friday friends! this summer has been complete insanity packed full of weddings! and as most of you from around here know, it has been HOT! i was really looking forward to vita and ben's wedding for 2 reasons. 1. it was at the beautiful, historic tennessee theater. and 2. it was all indoors!! hooray for air conditioning!! but, of course, we did have to take a couple trips outside to utilize that great tennessee summer sunlight!

there were lots of things that i loved about this wedding, but two of my favorite things were her dress and her shoes!! check out those heals!!!
